News : Claim The Throne enter the studio

By on March 3, 2013

It has been well over two years since Perth folk metallers Claim the Throne released their undeniably fun debut Triumph and Beyond but the band have finally hit the studio to work on the follow-up.

“This time around we have almost an hour of material. That’s about 12 songs, all over 5mins in length, one 12min epic, and a few shorter acoustic tracks. They generally sound a lot heavier than anything we’ve done before, but also very melodic, heaps of harmonies, varying vocal styles, and plenty of crazy ideas. Everyone has had input into the songwriting, with Jesse providing some killer keyboard oriented stuff, Jim peer pressuring us into using some death/slam (!!) and even the new (yet very old) Dysie has thrown in a heap of riffs. Totally pumped!”

If you want to keep up to date with what’s going on, the band have created a Tumblr page where they’ll be posting blogs, photos and videos. Perth folk can catch them live at the Amplifier Bar on March 22nd with Advent Sorrow, Nails of Imposition, Death Dependent and Abhorrent.
