News : Fear Factory confirmed for Big Day Out 2010

By on December 9, 2009

Heavy metal mechanical mastermind’s FEAR FACTORY have been confirmed to play at next years Big Day Out across Australia. The band are currently working on their next full length album entitled “Mechanize” which will be released early February 2010.

Burton C. Bell – “I didn’t want any of the soundscapes to sound natural. I wanted them to be really mechanical because I wanted that aspect of Fear Factory to really shine again, I feel it kind of got dulled over and that’s the aspect that I really enjoyed a lot about Fear Factory because I brought that to the table. I was a huge fan of industrial music and still am. And you don’t hear much of that these days anymore.”

The newly revamped band featuring original FF members Dino Cazares (guitar) and Burton C. Bell (vocals) alongside bassist Byron Stroud (who was credited on the last two FEAR FACTORY albums in addition to touring and recording with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and ZIMMERS HOLE) and legendary drummer Gene Hoglan (DETHKLOK, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DARK ANGEL, DEATH, TESTAMENT) — has been confirmed for the 2010 Big Day Out festival tour of Australia and New Zealand. The festival will have day-long events running in Auckland, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth from January 15 to January 31.

The dates are as follows:

Jan. 15 – Auckland MT Smart Stadium
Jan. 17 – Gold Coast Parklands
Jan. 22 – Sydney Showground
Jan. 23 – Sydney Showground
Jan. 26 – Melbourne Flemington Racecourse
Jan. 29 – Adelaide Showground
Jan. 31 – Perth Claremont Showground
