News : Double album launch for Silver Ocean Storm & Shellfin

By on October 10, 2010

Its been years in the waiting but Silver Ocean Storm are finally releasing their debut album ‘Architect of the Dying Sun’. And as an added bonus on launch night, fellow Brisbane band Shellfin will also mark the live release of their debut album titled ‘Secondhand Family‘.

Formerly known as Minus Life, Silver Ocean Storm have forged ahead with a new vocalist and a more mature sound reminiscent of Devin Townsend, Scar Symmetry and Mnemic. It was tracked in Australia by Nik Carpenter (Ex-Devolved) and mixed/mastered in Sweden by Jonas Kjellgren of Scar Symmetry.

Kyuss worshiping Shellfin, who are launching their debut full length album ‘Secondhand Family’ as a follow up to last years sold-out EP ‘Stay For Tea’. The album is a continuous flow of epic stoner rock which was written, recorded and released like one big jam session to capture that prolific 90’s sound. Full of grooving bass lines, rumbling guitars and soaring vocals, the album is already available free to download from http://shellfin.bandcamp.com. The option to donate some dollars for said album is also available!

Also joining the bands on the bill are booze-rockers High Plains Drifter and progressive metal act Perspectiv.
