News : Melbourne’s Black Majesty parts ways with guitarist and is set to work on a new album.

By on May 4, 2019

Since 2001, Melbourne based melodic power metal quintet Black Majesty have set the mould for Australian power metal. Consistently releasing great albums, performing at some of the world’s biggest heavy metal festivals and expanding their reach to a mass global audience alongside other Aussie power metal greats; Pegazus, Dungeon and Eyefear.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Guitarist and founding member, Steve Janevski has played a pivotal role in the evolution of Black Majesty. He has performed on every single of the band’s releases since the 2002 ‘Sands of Time’ EP and is now officially no longer a member of the band. Steve Janevski has made the following statement on the band’s official Facebook page regarding his departure.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I am writing to tell you that I have decided to part ways with my brothers in Black Majesty. I have nothing but good things to say about the members in the band. We have had so many good times together and I am extremely proud of the eight albums that we recorded together. I am going to miss everyone, but we remain friends for life. I wish Black Majesty nothing but the best for the future”.

Since the departure of Steve Janevski, Black Majesty have confirmed via social media the band will continue on their journey and begin work on the band’s ninth full-length studio release. No word on when the album will be made available to fans. However, a second European tour is set to take place later this year in additional regions which were missed in the band’s previous September tour schedule. No confirmation if the band will be performing additonal shows in Australia, but we will bring you more details as they become available.

In September 2018, Black Majesty released their 8th studio album ‘Children of the Abyss through German-based record label, Pride and Joy Music.
