Vocalist Lachlan Caroll says of the track and what Purpose is about – “Solitude forges strength as one relies solely on their own devices to overcome the pressures of life. However, it is easy to become lost in a self-perpetuating state of despair if one faces everything alone. Both self-reliance, as well as companionship, are equal parts of achieving success.”

Of the album, Bass Player Oakie expresses that “We are all very eager to release Coming and Going at the end of the month. It’ll be a big relief to finally get it out there, however we know it’s just the start for us. A full-length album has always been a goal for us and I don’t think any of us expected the work load. That being said, it has been an enjoyable process and we have met a lot of cool people along the way who were kind enough to help us out. Over the past two years we have put a tonne of effort into this record, and we are hopeful that it will make a statement in the heavy music scene.”

They released the first single ‘Still’ from the album last month with the audio streaming at Youtube – and promptly garnered 15k views online, as well as additions to the official Spotify playlist “Homegrown and Heavy”, spins on triple j’s Short Fast Loud and rotation addition to The Faction.

The record was Produced, Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Cody Brooks and co-produced by Ethan Macpherson. Forming in high school the five-piece have spent the two years since graduation homing in on their own style of heavy music, fusing melodic hardcore with low tuned prog. This sound offers a unique and diverse range, combining hard hitting emotion with brutal heaviness, while showcasing expert technique and technicality and are inspired by bands like Counterparts, Being as and Ocean, Northlane, Invent, Animate and Prepared Like a Bride.
