News : Brisbane Music Industry Summit Featuring Devin Townsend

On Friday, May 19th, some of the greatest minds in the music industry will be coming together at The Crowbar in Brisbane from 4 pm to 1 am, hosted by Rodney Holder of Music Business Facts. The Music Industry Summit is a Music Business Education Event where there will be keynote lectures from the one and only musical magician Devin Townsend as well as his manager Andy Farrow (who also manages Opeth, Paradise Lost, Anathema and many others). Devin will present his acclaimed presentation “How To Develop Creativity & Excel As A Successful Songwriter In A Changing Industry”. Andy Farrow will also present a keynote lecture titled “How To Plan, Book, & Implement A Successful International Tour”. 

In addition to this, there will also be an industry panel of experts from our own shores, that include Graham Nixon (Parkway Drive/Resist Records), Tim Price (Collision Course) and Eli Chamravi (Wild Thing Presents) discussing “How To Succeed In The Modern Music Business.”. To end the proceedings, there are three killer prog rock metal acts that will be playing after the panel and presentations.

Additional there will be live performances from “Special Guest Soon To Be Announced”, as well as South Australia’s “Icecocoon” and “Dyssidia“. It all kicks off with a whisky tasting session before getting down to brass tacks from 5pm; the live component gets under way at 10pm.
