Melbourne death metal band, Internal Nightmare have announced – almost four years to the day since their debut album Chaos Reborn dropped in 2013 – that they are underway with the making of their anticipated second album!

Adding to the exciting news is the fact that Michael Keene of California’s The Faceless will be contributing guitar and vocals to the album on top of mixing, mastering and production. Keene is also known for having previously worked with artists such as Abigail Williams, Born Of Osiris and Veil Of Maya.

The new album will be entitled The Essence of Creation, and is said to “with more intensity, a fuller sound, punishing rhythms, and more aggression”; all the while keeping Internal Nightmare’s trademark groove and diverse songwriting.

On Michael Keene, one of Internal Nightmare’s founding members and guitarist Christian Doherty had this to say:

“I’ve known Michael for a few years now and been a big fan of his work, so when I approached him to contribute vocals and guitar on the album, Michael offered to mix, master and produce it! Of course we jumped at the opportunity, we couldn’t be more grateful for the chance to work with him!”

Recording for The Essence of Creation is underway, with a release planned for mid-year. For now, you can next catch the band live when they’ll perform at the third annual instalment of Ausocalypse (presented by Megaton Music).
