In August of this year, Brisbane’s The Butterfly Effect announced their break up. Once one of Australia’s most iconic and beloved alternative rock bands, all four members of the band – Kurt Goedhart, Ben Hall, Clint Boge and Glenn Esmond – have now put together a very special digital package, comprising B-sides, live material, and rarities from their 17 year career. As well as this, they have further reprinted their self-titled debut EP on a single 12″ Coloured White Vinyl. This will match the double vinyl packages of their three studio albums that were released for pre-order in August.

As well as this, they have further reprinted their self-titled debut EP on a single 12″ Coloured White Vinyl. This will match the double vinyl packages of their three studio albums that were released for pre-order in August.

‘B-sides, Live, and Rarities’ – out now

The Butterfly Effect’s legacy stretches back to the heady days of the late 90s and early 2000s – held in the same esteem and part of Australian Alternative Music’s “Big Three” alongside Karnivool and Cog, they etched their name and fan base in stone across Australia and the world, many times over.

Through the course of their phenomenal career, The Butterfly Effect excited fans and brought venues and festivals to life with their three massive albums (all certified Gold), one incredible EP that introduced the world to the band, ARIA chart placements, triple j One Night Stands, Big Day Out main stage spots, overseas tours, DVD Documentaries and countless tours.

The four official releases from the band (The Butterfly Effect EP, Begins Here, Imago and Final Conversation of Kings) are now available across all digital platforms for purchase and for streaming, released independently via the band and Collision Course/MGM Distribution. Today they add the “B-Sides, Live and Rarities” package to those official releases and cap off a stellar and memorable career in Australian Rock History.

The Butterfly Effect formed in 1999 by original members Kurt and Ben, with Clint and Glenn being the second vocalist and bassist respectively – forming the seminal iteration of the band. After the release of their EP and their albums, they put themselves on hiatus in 2014. Save for a final tour and single following the departure of Boge, the band have never acknowledged the status of the project since that release.
