Brisbane’s alt-rock prog machine, Caligula’s Horse, only continue to grow and mature in stature and in output. Today comes the news that the band will be returning to tour Australia once again for the ‘Hands Shape Stone’ tour this November. Following on the heels of the wildly successful ‘Turntail’ Australian tour back in April this year, these new set of shows will serve as the band’s final shows for this year, as Caligula’s Horse are currently hidden away in deep writing mode; with the band planning to unveil some of the new material they’ve been working on exclusively on the tour.

Caligula’s Horse most recently announced the departure of long-time drummer Geoff Irish, and have revealed his replacement in Josh Griffin (pictured above second from left). This national tour will be Griffin’s first set of shows performing onstage alongside his fellow band mates, and he is ready to bring his own precision and strength to an already sizeable lineup.

As an introduction, Griffin recently recorded a drum play-through for “Rust”, taken off Caligula’s Horse’s latest effort, Bloom.

As explained by Caligula’s Horse frontman, Jim Grey:

Josh is totally a kindred spirit. An old-school prog fan, and a consummate musician who understands our musical mission statement. Not to mention mad chops! We’re all looking forward to introducing his style to our fans all around the world, starting right here in Australia in November.”
