Does heavy metal and comedy mix? Probably not. But drive-time comedians and no-longer-eligible-bachelors Hamish Blake and Andy Lee from The Hamish and Andy Show on the Austereo Network gave it a crack when they invited Melbourne metal hosts Gary Carson and Peter Fundeis from Screaming Symphony for a sketch titled The Seven Year Switch – Radio Edition.

While many mainstream radio listeners are familiar with Hamish and Andy, many will no doubt be unfamiliar with the Screaming Symphony duo, Peter Fundeis and Gary Carson. Screaming Symphony is Australia’s biggest progressive and power metal radio station, airing every Thursday night from 10pm on Melbourne’s own community radio station PBS.FM.

Screaming Symphony and Hamish & Andy have been on air for several years, and now come to a stale point in their careers needing a dramatic change. When opposite music worlds collide. Hilarity ensues.

The sketch was originally aired on Wednesday 16th of March via the Austereo Network. Listen to it in full below.

About

Since 1999, Gary Carson has co-hosted Australia's longest running prog/power metal radio show on Screaming Symphony.
