In an interesting and rather unexpected turn for the vocalist, Matty Young, frontman behind Australia’s fastest rising extreme metal / grindcore act, King Parrot, will this Sunday be presenting a free online lecture; discussing how to take your amateur band from the rehearsal room to an international stage.

Hosted by Rodney Holder for Music Business Facts, a website dedicated to free music industry lectures, it will teach strategies and steps for how to break out of the local scene, build strong networks and contacts, how to build a sustainable career, and so on.

In the words of King Parrot, via their Facebook page:

The all encompassing lecture will explore facets of the music industry rarely touched on, while giving attendees the opportunity to hear first hand the trials, tribulations and experiences from someone who has toured relentlessly around the world.

King Parrot’s rapid rise in the global metal community has been no coincidence. In this lecture Matt will give his account on how they did it and how they continue to maintain and build their band in this competitive industry.

You can learn some of the key techniques and strategies he has employed to ensure King Parrot’s place on the international touring circuit.
