News : Paying respect to BOLT THROWER drummer, Martin “Kiddie” Kearns

By on September 26, 2015

Last week, we reported on the tragic passing of Bolt Thrower drummer, Martin “Kiddie” Kearns, who sadly passed away at the age of 38. Bolt Thrower were set to play in Australia this week – what would have been the band’s first tour here in 22 years. The news of Kiddie’s passing spread like wild fire across social media platforms with legions of heavy metal fans from Australia, and around the world, paying their respects to Kiddie’s family and band mates.

Black Conjuration, the organisers of the tour made an announcement soon after, informing all ticket holders would be refunded in due time. However, in light of the situation many ticket holders felt it would more respectful and logical to give the money from the refunded tickets to Kiddie’s family. Kiddie’s family were blown away by the kindness and generosity on display from the Australian metal fans and although it’s something they’d never personally ask for, they respected the fact that so many felt strongly towards supporting Kiddie’s family.

In wake of the tragic passing, the Bendigo Hotel and Black Conjuration have joined forces with the help of ABOMINATORCAULDRON BLACK RAM (SA), HORDES OF THE BLACK CROSS and INVERLOCH to honour the passing of Martin “Kiddie” Kearns this Sunday at the Bendigo Hotel in Collingwood.

Bolt Thrower Australian tour merchandise will be made available at the event with the proceeds going directly to Martin’s family.

We strongly urge you make it along and support not only a great cause, but a great line up too.
