News : Art As Catharsis announce Nicefest’s dirty brother; Negfest

By on September 20, 2015

We say this pretty much every time we post something about Art As Catharsis Records but they are pretty much the definition of an eclectic label, so in the grand scheme of things, their new festival Negfest makes perfect sense.

The 2015 edition of their lovely Nicefest saw We Lost The Sea, Dumbsaint, Brian Campeau and a host other other, well, nice bands get together to celebrate everything… nice. Negfest is the other side of the coin, showcasing the darker side of Australian music, where “all proceeds will go towards the promotion of nihilism amongst children” according to the press release.

The inaugural event ties in with Adelaide doomers Space Bong‘s album launch tour and also features Thorax, Diploid, Frown, Fat Guy Wears Mystic Wolf Shirt, Funeral Moon, Gvrlls, Tombsealer, Jxckxlz, Narrow Lands, MSV BCP and Kurushimi. It’s being held at Sydney’s Hermann’s Bar on Sat 24th. Tickets are $25 at the door and there’s pre-sales from Oztix, with things kicking off at 3pm.
