News : Drowning Horse hitting the road on “Sheltering Sky” tour

By on August 27, 2015

Armed with their new album Sheltering Sky, Perth’s Drowning Horse have announced they’ll be heading on their first Australian tour. And from the early listen we’ve had, it’s one you’ll want to attend.

“First things first: Drowning Horse are heavy, and Sheltering Sky is probably the heaviest record you’ll hear all year. In their short history, the Perth outfit have mastered the art of massive weight, imbuing every aspect of their sound with unmatchable immensity. And in that heaviness lies something primal – something earthshaking and bone-rattling and so vital it strikes at the heart of the human condition in its most bleak and fragile state.”

That pretty much says it all and, when it comes to this sort of music, live is where it’s experienced best. Below is the first single from the new album, in case you missed it, and here are the all important dates;

October 30 –The Rosemount, Perth
w/ Space Bong, Craig McElhinney and Alzabo

October 31 – Mojos, Fremantle
w/ Space Bong, Foxes and Self Harm

November 5 – Crowbar, Brisbane
w/ Carnal Urge, Ripped Off, Frown and Idylls

November 6 – The Curtin, Melbourne
w/ Gentlemen, Mutton, Whitehorse and Scab Eater

November 7 – The Tote, Melbourne
w/ Spacebong, Extinct Exist, Contaminated and Tombsealer

November 8 – Newtown Social, Sydney
w/ We Lost The Sea, Thorax and Jxckxlz
