News : Serious Beak’s new album isn’t actually Sikh devotional songs, will still be progtastic

By on August 19, 2015

The announcement (Facebook post) back in August that Serious Beak‘s new album was going to be re-imaginings of traditional Sikh devotional songs, complete with track list, due to the band being “a little disillusioned with the math metal and djent scene” may have been unexpected but it was believable enough for us to fall for it. Especially when you consider the wide array of other musical projects each progger in the band has.

Alas, we got punk’d. The new album is actually called Ankaa, and follows in a similar outrageous instrumental vein as their debut Huxwhukw. It’s due out on Nov 3rd through Art As Catharsis & Bird’s Robe Records, with a single on the way, although there is a tasty preview in the video below.

More album details are available over on Pozible where they’re already nearing the half-way mark to funding a vinyl release which, considering how absolutely brilliant artist Caitlin Hackett is, will definitely the preferred format.
