News : Australian Exclusive Premiere: new track from George Kollias’ solo album

By on May 6, 2015

So many solo projects are nothing more than pale imitations of the full band material. Nile drummer George Kollias however has released an absolutely killer death metal release (which you can read our review of already). Below is the Australian premiere of new track “Buried Under the Flames”.

“‘Buried under the Flames’ is one of my favourite songs and the slowest on this record. It feels very emotional and sad with an intense ending, and therefore I see it as a great introduction to my work. I wanted to add some Greek elements without touching on the same subjects that everyone uses. This inspired me to use the beautiful choir, which fits the track like a glove. Mike Papadopoulos contributes the guitar solo and it is one of the finest that I’ve ever heard! I could not think of any better song to close the album in such an epic way!” – George Kollias

Invictus comes out on May May 18th through Season of Mist Records.
