News : Divine Ascension part ways with founding member

By on February 2, 2015

Things are quite exciting at the moment for Melbourne female fronted metallers Divine Ascension. Last week the band announced the “Liberating Australian Tour”, a massive Australian tour to celebrate the release of the band’s second full length album, ‘Liberator’.

However, after 10 years of hard work and loyal dedication, rhythm guitarist and founding member, Robb Inglis has parted way with Divine Ascension.

Robb shares his thoughts on the decision.

Well my friends, it is time for me to bid farewell. Crazy…yes…some may call me. I too share that thought. From well before the inception of what was to become “DA”, I have had a musical concept/thought that I was saving for a rainy day in those later years in life…a concept far removed from what we are achieving today. After 10 years of toil and determination, to feel a little spotlight, and know the road ahead is looking good, that burning desire to move on and answer the muse within is overwhelming for me. That rainy day, I feel, is now.

While sad to be departing from such a fine and wise group of friends, I feel our journey has only taken us on different paths and I feel as though they may cross again sometime. My time with the band has been an enriching experience and full of momentous memories. What I have learned from these fine musicians and friends has made me what I am yet to become.

To the fans, your support and loyalty has always been, and always will be, remembered and cherished. For the kind and generous reviews by the media, again, we thank you with all we have. I am looking forward to see this band grow from afar, and to see where this journey takes them. Yes, I am sure I will be pained with regret occasionally, but I do feel this is a pivotal time for me, and the future sees me nodding in agreement.

So at the risk of taking up half of this web page, I again say farewell. Thank you for all your support along the way…never forgotten. See you all soon…Robb.

Divine Ascension share their thoughts on Robb’s departure.

Robb was more than an outstanding rhythm guitarist and gifted songwriter, he was an integral member of the DA family and a close friend to all. His passion, experience, lightning fast jokes and sense of humor will be sorely missed.

While the musical journey has many paths, all in the DA family are certain Robb will remain a very close friend of the band and that our paths will indeed cross again. So, with heavy hearts, we sincerely thank Robb for his blood, sweat and tears and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

The remaining members of Divine Ascension have vowed to continue with the upcoming Australian tour in April and May, and promote the band’s steller new album, ‘Liberator’.

Divine Ascension are looking to fill the vacant rhythm guitar position. Details for prospective applicants can be found on the bands website www.divine-ascension.com
