I was at tonight’s gig as a punter but the camera was alongside me so I took the opportunity to fire off a few snaps of each band. So please, spare me the bitching and whining – I was there to enjoy myself without the pressures of deadlines and quotas so enjoy the photos for what they are.

From the outset, I do apologise to Witchgrinder. I just couldn’t find any space to shoot you guys, hence the limited amount of snaps in the gallery. Sorry. I will make amends in the new year.

The evening was presented by Sultan Music in association with Eureka Rebellion Trading. Both fine establishments run by damn good people.

Each band was to be drawn out of a hat to see where they would play on the bill. I thought this was a great idea as you had to be there early in case you missed your fave band’s performance.

Dead City Ruins

Dead City Ruins

First drawn band were Dead City Ruins. I was amazed how I haven’t shot or seen these guys before tonight. For whatever reason, the planets have never aligned and I keep missing them. I thought they put forth a kick ass pure hard rocking set and could fully see what all the fuss was about when it comes to these guys.

Desecrator

Desecrator

Next up, Desecrator took hold as they always do. When it comes to the local scene, I’ve shot these guys a bunch of times over the years and yet again, I always enjoy covering them. They play Thrash Metal. They play it well. They sound blisteringly amazing and they sure as hell are a photogenic bunch.
Electrik Dynamite

Electrik Dynamite

Electrik Dynamite brought the party to another level. Infectious good time rock and roll delivered with attitude and a tight-as-fuck groove! You always know what you’re gonna get with these guys without fail!

By the time Witchgrinder took the stage, the place was packed and it was practically impossible to get to the front of the stage to take some shots. I did try to mingle it amongst all the Goth chicks going absolutely gaga over these guys, but it proved to be hard doing. So sorry guys! I will try my absolute best to photograph you guys in the coming year.

It turned out to be an absolutely fantastic night with a very good crowd in attendance. It was packed and it was a ton of fun.

I have never photographed at the Evelyn before. I didn’t even know they had a stage to be honest, but geez, what a great room it is with fantastic lighting too. Better than some of the more established Rock venues in Melbourne I can assure you. I am looking directly at you Hifi Bar.

Enough from me, here are the pics! [Check the link above for the full gallery]
