Articles : Metal Obsession’s Monthly Giveaway #3 (Toehider, Whoretopsy + more!)

By on July 7, 2014

It’s that time again, where we round up a bunch of new releases from Australian bands, as well as other goodies, and give them away! The response to this over the past two months has been great, so thanks to everyone for entering and all the bands who have sent their latest release to me for these competitions.

Last month we had a special t-shirt/12″ vinyl pack from Melbourne’s Join the Amish, as well as a 7″ record from Atomic Death Squad, and new CD’s from EnvenomedThe Autumn LeagueDejan Toracki and more. Congratulations to Sharon Markwell of Upper Caboolture, QLD. You are the winner of this huge prize pack, and will be receiving it in the mail soon!

Image and video hosting by TinyPicYou might have noticed that last month we gave away Into the Pit Records‘ entire back catalog in two different competitions. The Dejan Toracki CD was featured in the last monthly competition, while their other four releases were in a special “Classic Aussie Metal” competition. Into the Pit have contributed to this months’ competition as well, with a $60 voucher to spend on their web store! They have a wide range of CD’s available on the web store, with most of them being $15, and free postage Australia-wide.

Also up for grabs are the following CD’s:

Whoretopsy (VIC) – While You Were Sleeping
Metal Obsession have been waiting a long time to hear more disgusting tales from these death metallers. With songs like ‘Bashed and Fucked’ and ‘The Terrible Thirty Twos’, this EP is not for the faint-hearted. Check out the details of their EP launch in Melbourne.

Toehider (VIC) – What Kind of Creature Am I?
This album is not for the Fun Police or the closed-minded. Mike Mills takes the eclectic craziness of his music to the next level. Don’t expect any hints of extreme metal like the other 4 CD’s in this competition though (except for the last song). Listen: “Smash It Out”

Perseverance (VIC) – The Brustian Solution
A unique blend of death/black metal and dark rock. This one hour EP from Perseverance is a must have for extreme metal fans. They were also kind enough to donate some limited-edition shirts and a stubby holder to this competition. Listen: “The Death Project”

The Furor (WA) – Impending Revelation
Perth’s blackened thrash destroyers are back. Or should I say “destroyer”, because unlike their previous albums, this latest offering was entirely composed and performed by their original drummer/vocalist “Dizazter”. Listen: “Inferno Fortification”

Diamond Noir (VIC) – Monsters
Howsie and Billie-Jade return from the ashes of Hatchet Dawn with their haunting new project. After recording this EP in Hollywood last year with Logan Mader (ex-Machine Head/Soulfly), the pair pieced together a full line-up and are now ready to dominate Australia’s metal scene. Listen: “Monsters”

Since we have a lot to give away this month, I’ve split this competition into two different prize packs! Entering this competition puts you in the draw to win one of these packs.
