News : Post-rock giants Maybeshewill announce Australian tour

By on June 19, 2014

Courtesy of the brilliant Bird’s Robe Records, UK post-rock giants Maybeshewill have announced their first Australian tour. For those of you who like some big riffs among the post-rock bliss, this is the band you’re looking for. Not to mention national support is Sydney’s Solkyri.

“Maybeshewill is James Collins, Matthew Daly, John Helps, Robin Southby and Jamie Ward. Over the course of the last 8 years they’ve worked tirelessly through endless touring and three full-length albums to build a loyal and enthusiastic following across the world. Sticking to a steadfastly DIY ethos the band have self recorded all their material to date and aspire to be as self-sufficient as possible.

Touring has been fundamental to Maybeshewill. They’ve covered the UK and mainland Europe extensively as well as Russia, China and Japan with the likes of 65daysofstatic, …And You Will Know Us By Trail of Dead, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Earthtone9, Lite, Long Distance Calling and The Ocean (amongst many others).

So perhaps it’s fitting their first ever Australian tour comes in the midst of an epic 60+ date world tour in support of their forthcoming new album.

Their fourth studio album ‘Fair Youth‘ will be released on 25 August 2014 through Superball Music (…Trail of Dead, 65daysofstatic, Oceansize).

Maybeshewill will be joined by Sydney’s Solkyri for all dates, themselves touring in support of 2013 debut Are You My Brother?”
