News : The Schoenberg Automaton launch crowdfunding campaign for “Apus”

By on May 29, 2014

It’s not a secret that The Schoenberg Automaton is a bit of a favorite of ours, we’ve posted more articles about them than probably any other Australian band (maybe King Parrot rival that, but they do a lot), and here’s another.

In the lead up to their tour with Psycroptic and Aborted, the Queenslanders have launched a crowdfunding campaign for their sophomore album Apus, which we’re assuming is some kind of composition about monkeys. Hurr hurr.

Apus is written and awaits imminent genesis. We have reached beyond our Australian borders to enlist the skills of US producer Shane Frisby, known for his work with such acts as The Ghost Inside, Revocation, Bury Your Dead, and Becoming The Archetype.

An entirely self-funded effort, the strength of Vela laid a foundation that has allowed TSA to share the stage with Slayer, Northlane, Thy Art Is Murder, King Parrot, Born of Osiris, Upon A Burning Body, Psycroptic, After The Burial, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Between the Buried and Me, Animals as Leaders, Emmure, Veil of Maya, Aeon of Horus and more. Following a recent trip to the red center of Australia, TSA has now performed across all states and territories of Australia, and from this point forward we don’t plan on slowing down.

With your help, The Schoenberg Automaton will be able to maintain its manic purpose, and systematically destroy all notions of traditional composition along the way. With your help, this machine we drive will continue to twist every inquisitive mind we encounter. With your help, Apus can fully become the dark, intense, and provocative album we know it is destined to be. “

The various pledges and more details about the project, and how the funds will be spent, are over at Pozible.
