News : The Palm/A Secret Death tour is being turned into a film

By on September 6, 2013

We’re pretty bloody excited about Japan’s Palm hitting Australia. Their latest album My Darkest Friends is a beast, and full of the kind of tunes that you know will rock hard on the live front. As if the lineups weren’t special enough, label and touring company Monolith have announced that the tour is going to be made into a movie.

“MONOLITH is about to make a movie. This tour is unlike any tour that we have ever previously attempted. Across 18 shows metal/hardcore bands Palm (Japan) and A Secret Death (Gold Coast/Melbourne) will traverse every single state and territory of Australia. From capital cities to regional towns and even an indigenous community, the bands will play at DIY warehouse venues, clubs, bars, outdoors and even at a number of festivals alongside the likes of Thy Art Is Murder, Rolo Tomassi (UK), Encircling Sea, I Exist, The Schoenberg Automaton and more.

This movie endeavours to capture the journey not just in the live performances, but in the interactions that take place and relationships that are formed along the way through some of Australia’s most unlikely touring destinations.”

To help cover some of the extra costs involved in the filming, editing and subtitling (for the Japanese half of the audience), they have set a Pozible campaign and, thankfully, hit their 1.5k target within a few days. As with any crowdfunding campaign however, the more money they have the better the final product will be, so head over and check out some of the great reward options.
