News : Lycanthia and Subterranean Disposition are heading on tour together

By on January 22, 2013

It’s time for all of you doom fans to grab a pen and make a note on your calendar. Recent-ish Hypnotic Dirge Records signees Lycanthia and Subterranean Disposition will be hitting the road as a bit of a dual album launch celebration.

The former released (Jens Bogren mastered) Oligarchy not too long ago, but are now seeing it re-releases through Hypnotic Dirge; blending classical elements with much darker landscapes through the use of dual female vocals, harsh male vocals, violins, piano, etc.

The latter began as a solo recording project from metal veteran Terry Vainoras, who you may know from Order of Chaos, Damaged, Insomnium Dei, Earth, Hellspawn or The Eternal. His debut, self titled album was superb with not a single flat moment; rooted firmly in doom and sludge but with a surprising amount of variety in there. Terry has recruited a lineup of his favorite musicians to recreate the album as a live band, including Christophe Delcourt of Away The Cinders, Shaun Bryndzia of Canyonaero, and Retch Bile of Broozer. Each show will also feature a guest saxophonist, while Heaven The Axe‘s Phoebe Pinnock will make a vocal appearance in Melbourne, and Lycanthia‘s Megan Tassaker performing the part at the other shows.

Saturday February 23 – Bendigo Hotel, Melbourne
Saturday March 16 – Bald faced stag, Sydney
Friday April 5 – Prince of Wales, Brisbane
Saturday April 6 – Miami shark bar, Gold Coast

Proudly presented by us here at Metal Obsession, as well as Hypnotic Dirge Records and MMK Promotions.
