News : The first singles from the Battle Pope/Jesus Christ Posse split

By on November 23, 2012

“Little Richard wildly fucking Blood Duster, Captain Cleanoff and Elvis at a hedonist coke orgy”.

That’s how Sydney’s Battle Pope (featuring members of Dumbsaint, Serious Beak, Adrift For Days and Kill A Celebrity) describe themselves, and shockingly enough it’s actually quite accurate. The band smash together grind, swing, rock and doom, with the result being some of most entertaining heavy music going around at the moment.

On December 12th, the band will be releasing a split with hardore punkers Jesus Christ Posse. LPs with ship in early Jan 2013, with a national tour following shortly after. But while we’re waiting for that, have a lookie at Battle Pope’s first single from the release. It’s a good’un.

You can hear more tracks from each band over at Bandcamp, and below are the two brilliant pieces of artwork.
