News : Pirate’s “Time Minus Five” single and tour

By on November 5, 2012

Sydney’s Pirate are a quirky one; think funky, technical avant-garde rock with a saxophone. If it sounds like your cup of tea then now is a pretty good time to check them out. The band just announced “Time Minus Five” as the final single from their debut record Left of Mind, and it’s coincidentally one of the best tracks on there.

The single also appears on the brilliant Stargazing Under Southern Skies compilation that Art As Catharsis released not too long ago, featuring a selection of Australia’s best ambient/post-rock/shoegaze/experimental artists. Download it for free.

Accompanying the single will be shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong, before the band head back into the studio to work on their next release. While all of the lineups are pretty rad, the Sydney show is one that most definitely should not be missed; Serious Beak and Nous are two bands that all should experience live.

Friday 9th November @ Lansdowne Hotel, Sydney
w/ Serious Beak, Nous and Nobody Knew They Were Robots

Friday 23rd November @ 303, Melbourne
w/ Xenograft, A Lonely Crowd

Friday 24th November @ Yours and Owls, Wollongong
w/ Apes and The Koranic
