By on August 30, 2012

Press release:

Cherry Bar announces its first CherryFest, an eclectic rock n roll festival featuring 14 diverse quality acts across two stages in AC/DC Lane and Cherry Bar on Sunday 25 November from 12noon.

Co-owner and Booker James Young explains, “With the success of our sold-out CherryRock012 Festival in April this year, the sixth of its type, we’re super keen to hold another event for the first time in the Spring sunshine and to take advantage of our current deluxe Yarra views before the 189-apartment 12-storey development is built at the base of AC/DC Lane. Let’s host one last incredible rock n roll party in AC/DC Lane, shall we, music lovers of Melbourne? And have we got a mouth-watering line-up for you…”

Headlining CherryFest in their first ever trip to Australia will be EYEHATEGOD from New Orleans, the Godfathers of Sludge Metal with their legendary heavy detuned bluesy guitar riffs combining with tortured vocals and walls of feedback to create a sludge so thick we’ll need to call in the Fire Brigade to hose down AC/DC Lane. In the name of suffering, Eyehategod are finally coming!

Then there’s the progressive psychedelic art rock fusion from the man behind the guitar sound of At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta, as CherryFest welcomes the OMAR RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ BAND experimenting in sound never before heard in AC/DC Lane.

The reformation! CherryFest sees the reunion of Melbourne’s Kings of Stoner Rock for one incredible performance….DERN RUTLIDGE are back. And there will be “Lines On The Table.” Complimenting this will be the resurgent MY LEFT BOOT who will have a brand new album (Mastered by Brian ‘QOTSA’ Gardner) to launch and the ubiquitous ever-charismatic HENRY WAGONS with something special to offer…

Nine more bands are still to be announced.
