Sydney-based instrumental band Dumbsaint will take their cinematic live show back on the road this September for their second east coast tour of 2012, celebrating the release of their second single, the dark, ambient track, Inwaking. After a successful start to the year which has seen the release of the band’s long-awaited debut album Something That You Feel Will Find Its Own Form (STYFWFIOF), Dumbsaint will be returning to Brisbane, Sydney and Wollongong, finishing off the run by supporting US “spaghetti-post-rock” group Grails in Sydney.

Standing in sharp contrast to some of the heavier and more progressive tracks on STYFWFIOF, “Inwaking” is a quiet, dreamlike interlude, which grows out of gentle, delay-soaked guitar melodies into a tense build-up – before finally reaching an explosive climax that provides the album with one of its
most memorable moments.

Dumbsaint’s upcoming tour will feature the band’s trademark audio-visual live show, performing Inwaking and other tracks from their album, which has received strong international praise and has been featured on radio both in Australia and the US, including repeated airplay on Triple J’s The Racket. For their east coast dates they will be joined by Brisbane’s Greenthief, who are following up their recent Australia-wide tour with The Butterfly Effect. The shows will continue an exciting year for Dumbsaint, in which they have played alongside American post-metal legends Rosetta, as well as acclaimed local acts sleepmakeswaves and Breaking Orbit.

September’s tour will also see the band playing their first shows with new second guitarist, Michael Tokar. Previously of Sydney’s Paper Champion, Michael’s arrival in Dumbsaint marks the beginning of a new chapter in the life of the band, now as 4-piece. After many long hours in the rehearsal room,
Dumbsaint are eager to show audiences some reinvigorated takes on material from STYFWFIOF, as well as debut brand new music and short films for the first time this year.
