News : Our Last Enemy: new EP and tour dates

By on March 22, 2012

Press release:

Having wrapped up touring at the end of last year and with some time to recover and rejuvenate, they are about to come storming back with an EP to bridge the gap between their first album and their much anticipated follow up which will soon see the light of day. The EP, titled Wolves Of Perigord is both an initiation for some of the new blood in the band and something for their fans to sink their teeth into.

Wolves will be a digital only release and sonically pushes the bands apocalyptic horror styled themes a step further. Darker, heavier and meaner than before. It features plenty of samples & digital manipulation, some epic melodic choruses, a touch of Euro metal flavour and even nudges some death and black metal realms all while maintaining their machine like industrial rhythm.

On the EP, the band comment that…

We’ve got some of the most intense songs we’ve ever written on this EP. It has the perfect balance of chaos and structure. Its as sharp as a knife and as blunt as a brick to the face. Musically, we combed over everything, everyone had a say in everything, really being the true meaning behind the word “band”.

The title comes from a pack of wolves that terrorized Perigord, France in the 18th century. The wolves shocked the region to its core and Our Last Enemy see a lot of similarities between those wolves and themselves. Staying together, fighting the odds and being hunted down and persecuted for doing what came naturally to them, and them continuing to do it, despite any consequence.

To support the EP, Our Last Enemy have booked in a new run of dates along the east coast. Get to show near you to witness the next stage in their evolution. “Speak of the wolf, and you will see its teeth”

Wolves comes out on March 26th via iTunes.
