News : House of Thumbs showcase heavier musical direction

By on January 20, 2012

Melbourne’s chaos-metal outfit House of Thumbs are set to release a selection of four raw an unmastered demo tracks. The four tracks form part of the ‘Bungalow Demos’, a working title given to the group’s pre-production sessions for the as-yet-untitled follow-up to ‘Crossing the Rubicon’, which was released in 2010. The aforementioned demos will showcase the band’s new heavier musical direction.

The demos will be available over the next two months via ReverbNation and the band’s official Facebook page’s. The first song, titled, ‘Ink Bot’ along with the 3 other demos will be released with custom artwork central to the band’s ongoing horror themes of thumb amputation and cathartic release.

Make sure to check out the upcoming demos on the House of Thumbs official Facebook page: www.facebook.com/houseofthumbs

According to a statement from the band, Ink Blot is an example of the group’s move towards a heavier, grittier sound:

“We’ve ramped it up a bit since CTR and we’re using these demos as a way of not only providing some fresh, unheard material, but also as a way of testing the waters before the next album.”

– House of Thumbs

The band is currently sorting through “somewhere in the vicinity of twenty songs” and hopes to have a final list of tracks announced in the coming months.
