Andrew Haug, the voice behind Triple J’s Full Metal Racket or simply known as ‘The Racket’ has officially announced his departure from the long running  heavy metal radio show.

After some 10 years at the helm of Australia’s leading Heavy Metal radio program on Triple J and conducting some 600 interviews with the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Mastodon, Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne. Andrew Haug has officially announced his departure from The Racket.

“Thanks to Triple j for what’s been an amazing ride and privilege. But the biggest thank you goes to The Racket listeners for all their support and dedication to the Heavy Metal genre in its many forms. This show has never been about me, I’m just the lucky messenger spreading the word & I’ll continue to do so.”

Make sure to tune into Andrew Haug’s final show of The Racket on Triple J next Tuesday night (December 6th) from 10pm til 1am.
