News : Mournful Congregation album details and sampler

By on September 8, 2011

In the lead up to a release which is bound to make any funeral doom fan wet his cloak, an eight minute sampler and the details for the upcoming Mournful Congregation full length The Book Of Kings have found their way onto the internet. The 80 minute album is due for released in Australia through Obsidian Records in November, and apparently “takes the listener on a turbulent journey through both imperial nobility and crestfallen, tarnished hope”.

The Book of Kings track listing:
1. The Catechism of Depression (XIX:XIX)
2. The Waterless Streams (XII:XVII)
3. The Bitter Veils of Solemnity (XII:II)
4. The Book of Kings (XXXIII:X)

And if you missed the news, back in September the band released a compilation of out-of-print tracks titled The Unspoken Hymns back in September, which is streaming over at the 20 Buck Spin site.

Those of you wanting to catch the band live, November 4th at Higher Ground in Adelaide is the place to be. The band will be performing an 80 minute set, alongside Rote Mare, in what will likely be their only Australian show until the second half of 2012. Or you can fly to the US to catch them on their first west coast tour, which includes a main headlining spot at the Rites of Darkness III festival alongside Demigod, Sargeist, Urfaust, Zemial, Mortuary Drape and more.
