News : Sonic Forge Festival set times released

By on November 30, 2010

The monstrous, and quite awesome, Sonic Forge Festival is almost among us. And finally, the update you have all been waiting for; set times! Tickets for the event are only $15+bf, and are available from www.espy.com.au or at the door. We’ll see you there!

“Sonic Forge Festival, featuring 32 of the best metal bands the Australian metal scene has to offer, will take place on December 4 at the Esplanade Hotel, run over 3 stages, and provide metal fans with 12 hours of endless metal of the highest quality! Whether you like your metal death, melodic, black, prog, grind, math, tech, core or other, there is something for everyone and it’s all for only $15!

In addition to supporting and promoting the many great metal bands this country has to offer, this event is also strongly centered around raising money for ‘The Center of Hope’, an orphanage in Haiti. Many of us here in Australia were overwhelmed at the destruction wrought upon this country when an earthquake on January 24 of this year resulted in the deaths of more than 230,000 people, injuries to more than 300,000 & 1 million more left homeless. This tragic event resulted in thousand’s of children being orphaned, and in the process worsened a problem that already existed, in what is one of the world’s poorest countries. Whilst much money has already been raised for general disaster relief in Haiti, this event focuses on trying to help a particular orphanage ‘The Center of Hope’, which is due to open it’s doors for the first time in the coming weeks. So in buying a ticket to this event you not only get to witness the biggest local metal festival held in Melbourne for quite some time, you will also be directly helping these orphaned children in Haiti & making a difference to their lives.”
