News : Abrasion back from the dead

By on September 20, 2010

For the first time since 2007, Victorian death metal band Abrasion will be making their return to the stage.

Formed back in 1996, the band were a regular on the live scene, supporting acts such as Disgorge, Pungent Stench and Deeds of Flesh. With a demo and an EP under their belt, they finally released their debut full length Violent Core Traction in 2005, however with one member leaving and the others feeling worn out, it was released without an official tour or album launch. Several months later, House of Thumbs bassist Nick filled the missing spot and in 2007, the band finally toured in support of their not-so-new album. November 2007 saw the band play their final show, before going into complete hiatus, at the Tote Hotel as an instrumental band.

But, with no warning, they’re back. Playing alongside Embodied, Empty The Throne and Demonium (their final show with vocalist The Teeth Subjector), they will storm the East Brunswick Club on October 2nd.
