News : Scar The Surface: departure, recording and launch

Melburnians Scar the Surface have posted a band update discussing a plethora of things, and here it is…

“Apologies to all who read our blog for the lack of updates recently. It’s been one of those things we have been meaning to do, but haven’t got around to doing! We’ve got quite abit of news to share including the departure of guitarist Shane ‘Tuckerbag’ Grant, a bunch of upcoming shows, the recording of our new single, and the launch of aforementioned single.

The Departure:
Shane informed us all about six weeks ago that he will be leaving the band. We all sat down at the begginning of the year and mapped out a rough plan of what is on the band’s horizon and the further we trek along this road of rock’n’roll, the harder it has got for him to dedicate the time and committment to staying on board, so he’s deceided to do the right thing by his family and his band.

Since he joined Scar the Surface, he’s been apart of the funnest shit we’ve ever done on tour and in the studio and he’s going to be missed. He’s staying on until we find his replacement, so whenever that may be he will post a little something and we’ll chuck a HYOOOGE farewell show for him.

****** This date is quite a special one.
This date covers off the Recording/Single/Launch because…..we are releasing our new single ‘THE TRAVELLER HAS COME’! The weekend just past (August 12th-15th, 2010) we returned to Legion Studios to work with the human Ken doll that is the one and only Julian Renzo (the man behind the EP) to record our latest single. We’re pleased to say that the sessions went really fucking well and we’re uber excited to get the finished product back.

Now with the launch show, we’ve got a deal going. We have a few tickets to sell ($13ea) and if you buy a ticket from one of the band members you will get a free limited pressed and signed copy of ‘THE TRAVELLER HAS COME’. Yep. Awesome!!! We will be selling the tickets at all of our upcoming Melbourne shows, so to everyone that buys one we will record your name down and when you get to the launch gig you can collect your very own single from the merch desk. It’s that easy!
