News : Spire release a horde of updates

By on May 26, 2010

Queensland atmospheric black metal band Spire have released a horde of new updates with a few very exciting pieces of news. As some of you may know, the band released their absolutely mesmerizing self titled EP not long ago. Coming soon: a remastered 12″ vinyl version with new artwork and an unheard demo track. It will be released in the coming months on black vinyl, and also maybe a very limited edition picture disc. The band also stated that there may be a cassette version coming as well.

Looking into the future; the band have completed “extensive work” on their next EP release which is apparently “different from our first release whilst retaining an essential Spire aesthetic.” Further away than that is their first full length release, which may be a long way away yet, but writing is underway. On top of those two releases, there are also “several splits with different audio Gods” in the works. They will most likely be limited vinyl releases, but that was all the detail that was given.

While the band are busy, there will be little on the live scene from them. They have stated there might be one more live show for the year, and a couple next year, but no specifics were given. “The energy channeled into playing a live show was quite taxing for us and must essentially remain exclusive for Spire to perform to our fullest potential.”
