News : Forgery change name

By on April 8, 2010

Canberra thrash band Forgery have undergone a name change, and will now be known as Hellbringer. The trio recently signed with German distributor Iron Pegasus, who will release their debut EP ‘Hellbringer’ on vinyl in Europe. Unfortunately for the band, a Norwegian band also called Forgery are signed to Candlelight Records, and thus a change of name was required to avoid any confusion.

The band have commented that despite the name change, “we are not changing our style at all and will [continue] to thrash you maniacs!”.

Hellbringer will be heading up to NSW for shows on the 16th and 17th of March; the former date with thrashers Darker Half and Rampage at the Oxford Tavern (Wollongong), and the latter date with Killrazer, Cuntbutcher, Summonus and more at the ‘Hard and Heavy festival’ at the Lewisham Hotel (Lewisham). Further details in our gig guides or on the bands Myspace.
