By on February 25, 2010

Performing second at our upcoming benefit show will be quirky prog rockers Toehider. There are very few musicians that are as capable as the mastermind behind this project, Mike Mills, of writing and performing music over such a vast range of genres with such consistently. His current project, titled “12 in 12”, is to release a brand new 6-track EP on the 12th of every month for a year. With only 2 left to come, he has pulled it off spectacularly. With simplified genres, here is his release list so far:

2008 – ‘Toehider‘ (Quirky progressive rock, review here)
May 2009 – ‘Children of the Sun; A Collection of Unappreciated Cartoon Themes from the 80’s‘ (Cartoon theme song covers)
June 2009 – ‘Not Much Of A Man‘ (Acoustic folk)
July 2009 – ‘Old, Old, Old‘ (Deep Purple-esque classic rock)
August 2009 – ‘Toehider Too!’ (Progressive rock)
September 2009 – ‘How Did Counterquistle Lose His Pyjamas‘ (Dr Seuss-esque musical tale)
October 2009 – ‘Metaltarsus’ (Classic heavy metal)
November 2009 – ‘ In All Honesty‘ (Commercial rock/pop)
December 2009 – ‘Under the Mistletoe‘ (Christmas-themed rock)
January 2010 – ‘ 9‘ (Ambient)
February 2010 – ‘Do You Believe In Monsters‘ (Progressive rock/Doom)

With such an interesting array of music and influences, a fantastic live band, and Mike’s fun stage presence, this is a live act you do not want to miss.
