News : Album launches in Perth, Brisbane this weekend

By on February 9, 2010

Perth’s Technical metal trio Under the Influence will be launching their third full-length record titled, The Brutal Harsh Honest Truth, this Saturday 12th February., 2010.

Under The Influence (U.T.I) is the brainchild of Perth based musicians Robbie Lumsden and Saxon Smith. Since 2005 this partnership has seen the band self-produce 2 records since forming in 2006. Now their third album is ready to be unleashed, this time with Australian distribution through Firestarter Music. The record contains 11 tracks of calculated yet grooving sounds derived from a vast array of influences and genres.

Delivering a message and mentality that’s relevant now, The Brutal Harsh Honest Truth plunges Australian metal into uncharted territory with it’s assaulting displaced riffage, rasping gang vocals, and no holds barred soloing. Honing the U.T.I sound during the course of their previous two records, “The Brutal Harsh Honest Truth” is a true balance of modern metal technicality and mature song writing, a record to be enjoyed by all metalheads old and new.

Meanwhile in Brisbane, High Plains Drifter will be launching their debut album featuring 9 tracks of Southern Rock/Old School Metal inspired tunes at weekly club event and Brisbane metal institution Monstrothic @ Rosies.

Both albums are available for purchase at the launch shows, or alternatively online through the bands respective websites.
