News : Creech win 'Best Video of the Year' award at AIMVA 2009

By on November 22, 2009

Melbourne Alternative Rock band Creech have won the ‘Best Music Video of the Year‘ at the 2009 Australian Independent Music Video Awards. The video ‘Lazy – Doofwars Episode I’ was the culmination of over a year’s hard work from the band’s singer Taz Cebula as he recovered from a life threatening cancer.

The video clip was voted by Mark Tinson (Silverchair, Screaming Jets), Murray Fahey (Tropfest, Disney) and other industry personnel as the ‘Best Music Video of the Year’, with ‘Lazy’ also picking up ‘Best Pop/Rock Song of the Year’.

One of the most exciting things is that this is just the beginning of the ‘Doofwars’ saga, and an entire series of videos is planned. Work has already commenced on ‘Broken – Doofwars Episode II’ and the video will be released with the album ‘Away From Home’ in early 2010.
