News : Closed Casket part ways with bassist, announce replacement

By on May 19, 2009

Adelaide’s Closed Casket have announced the depature of long time bass player Sam Ahrens due to personal and business reasons within the band. Jack the Giant Killer and ex-In The Burial bass player Jacob Stavropoulos will join the band permanently.

Closed Casket – “Unfortunately, we’ve elected to part ways with our long time bassist, Sam Ahrens. Sam has been a principal songwriter and member of Closed Casket since the bands inception, however recent developments have forced us to take a serious look at the dynamic within the band, and for personal and business reasons, we feel that its best that we continue on with a new bassist. We wish Sam no hard feelings whatsoever, and wish him the best with his future musical endeavours.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome Jacob Stavropoulos (Jack The Giant Killer / ex-In The Burial) to the band as our new permenant bassist. Jacob will be an active member in both performance and songwriting, and we look forward to taking to the stage with him for the first time during our upcoming leg of Queensland shows!
