News : Dreadnaught announce new LP and launch details

By on March 31, 2009

Australian hard rock / metal band Dreadnaught have just announced that their new LP CD will be available as download and as a physical product in stores from May 1st.

Due to the signing of a distribution agreement through Amphead music the LP will be available as a download from iTunes and in good record stores. Amphead are a leading player in online distribution, and although a relatively new label, have an experienced team of promotional and A&R staff.

The self-titled LP CD, Dreadnaught’s 5th studio release since 1993, represents a 16 year milestone for the band. Vocalist Greg Trull had this to say about the writing and recording of the LP.

“… When this band goes into the studio its all about making a record that expresses ourselves as us, and not as an imitation of whatever brand of heavy metal is popular at that particular time. It’s about being honest with yourself and honest with your fans, because if you’re not, then you’re ripping them and you off…”

Dreadnaught’s new LP CD will be available for download from iTunes, and in all good record stores from May 1st.

The new LP, available from May 1st thru Amphead music and available at the show, represents a return to the thrash based metal of Dreadnaught in the mid-nineties, more akin to our first two releases Body.Blood.Skin.Mind (1996) and Idiosyncrasy (1998). The album has been mixed by Reggie Bowman and mastered at Masterdisc in NY, its’ production qualities surpass previous Dreadnaught material.

Supporting Dreadnaught at the NSC are Argument Soul (Japan), The Ocularis Infernum and Geer. Argument Soul are a progressive styled technical thrash band from Nagoya in Southern Japan, signed to Soundholic records. Argument Soul are in Australia on a whirlwind schedule; playing in Melbourne on the Friday night, then Sydney on Saturday 2nd. Also on the May 1st line-up are Melbourne technical metallers, The Ocularis Infernum, and the sports-rock inferno, Geer.
