News : Arkheth joins Obsidian Records

By on January 24, 2009

As per the title, here is the press release:

Since 2003, NSW’s charred horde of Black Metal Arkheth has had a strong affiliation with QLD. Obsidian Records is very keen to solidify those ties, and with this notion is pleased to welcome this unique and ascending young band to the OR citadel.

Some may remember the initial impressions Arkheth made back in 2003 with their seven track EP “Hymns of Howling wind” released through BlackTalon Media, along with a combination of shows including BloodLust ’03 (As Eternal Dark), and ’04, and the Morbid Tales Festivals in Sydney. To many, the face of Arkheth was reduced to ashes after BloodLust 04. As a live entity they had ceased to be and all contact with the metal community was lost. Until now! There are many different reasons as to why this happened. Though it seems that the events that have taken place in between then and now is what has led to the return of ARKHETH.

Remarkably though, the writings within the Arkheth chasm never stopped, and between 2003 and 2007, ten songs where painstakingly bleed, to make over two hours of material for a double CD release, titled, ‘IX & I: The Quintessence Ov Algaresh’. A return to the live front in Canberra, June 2008, signaled the resurgence of Arkheth. The march has continued with further shows in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. Currently in the mastering phase, the majestic ‘IX & I: The Quintessence Ov Algaresh’ is planned for release through Obsidian Records first quarter ’09.

Comments from the band:

Greetings everyone,
We can officially announce that ARKHETH have joined forces with OBSIDIAN RECORDS for the release of our second full length double album ‘IX & I: The Quintessence Of Algaresh’.
This partnership has been many months in the making but unfortunaley continued delays have set back the release of the album once again. If all goes to plan we should see an official release within the first quarter of 2009.
Regards Tyraenos
