News : Ironwood one step closer to releasing :Fire:Water:Ash:

By on December 7, 2008

Progressive folk/viking metal band Ironwood have posted a short album report up on their Myspace. You can read our review of their brilliant debut release here.

Well folks, mastering proceeded very well indeed. Its pretty clear why Studios 301 have the great reputation they do!

The album is now sounding very lush and rich, with just the right mix of atmosphere and extremity. We even had the chance to run the whole thing through tape to restore some of the warmth lost in the digital recording process – quite a treat.

Apart from a couple of minor tweaks, we will now just have to wait to get our CDs – its going to be a very cool presentation in digipak with a 24 page booklet filled with some pretty awesome nature photography.

We’ll let you know as soon as the CDs are back from the plant. We’re planning on a launch next year (even though strictly speaking its a 2008 release), but due to injury in the band (sound familiar?) that’s going to have to wait until February or so.

I will put up a new track on the Myspace player too – and perhaps remove the rough mixes and replace them with the final product.

Thanks for your continued support.
