News : Empyrean recording update

By on May 5, 2008

Empyrean have posted an update on the recording of their new album.

“Hello all

It has been a while since we updated about how the recording is going. Well, so far it isn’t going that bad at all, the guitars are almost COMPLETELY done, so hoorah!

A few riffs have changed, and tensions have heightened slightly with conflicts of ideas, but that is all a very much real part of the creative process. All rhythm tracks are completed and only 3/4 lead tracks remain!

I will say this however, I believe this recording, although it is the most ambitious writing we have ever put forward, it is sounding absolutely breath-taking. I won’t give away too much, but, Tim is using a Ibanez Prestige RG series axe loaded with EMG 81/85s and I am using my Ibanez Prestige S series (which is loaded up with Dimarzio p’ups). I can’t give much else away about the guitar tone, but it will rip you a new one.

Tomorrow we head in during the night to try our hand at finishing off the leads.
After that, Dan goes in to do his bass-bliss, followed by Tannett with keys and finally James with vocals.

Keep your ear to the ground and spread the word! Updates as they come!
